  4. Walk 15 minutes: for continuous sidewalks, turn right on Medpark Dr. and then left on Brinker Rd.

Getting to the Conference Venue

UNT offers a free bus route ("Colorado Express") that travels on a fairly direct route from the hotels to campus and runs throughout the day on weekdays. To ride to campus, wait on Colorado Blvd. across from the Hilton Garden Inn; on campus, it stops on Highland Street, near a map of campus and a short walk from the University Union and Willis Library. For the return trip, take bus from the same stop on Highland Street; the bus stops by request on Colorado Blvd. near the Best Western. The bus schedule is available here.

For Thursday evening, UNT will offer transportation from the conference venue to downtown Denton and then, two hours later, back to the hotels.

If you have a disability that prevents you from using our transportation, please use the DCTA Access service and save receipts for reimbursement by UNT.

Those driving to campus will need to purchase a day-use visitors pass and park in one of the lots designated on the pass.  See information online. There should be plenty of available spaces in the designated lots since both events will take place just after the end of the spring semester.

Dining and Evening Transportation

Each hotel has its own cafe or restaurant, plus there are a four chain restaurants adjacent to the hotels. Attendees may also wish to go to downtown Denton in the evenings for more choices of restaurants and bars. UNT will offer transportation to and from downtown on Thursday evening. Groups (not individuals) staying at the Courtyard by Marriot can arrange for local trips in their van. Other options are below:

  • The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) bus route 2 stops near the intersection of Colorado Blvd. and Brinker Rd. Instead of going to UNT, the buses go to downtown Denton. The last bus leaves downtown at 8:39 p.m. Individual tickets may be purchased from the driver or through a mobile app.
  • The DCTA A-Train has a station that is a 15-minute walk from the hotels and another station that is a 10-minute walk from downtown Denton. The last train leaves downtown at 9:20 p.m. on weekdays, plus 11:15 p.m. on Fridays. Individual tickets may be purchased from a vending machine on the platform of a station or through a mobile app.
  • Your hotel can order you a taxi.
  • You can book your own ride through a transportation network company like Uber.
